MBT
In the spring of 2024, I decided to do the foolish thing of going back to school for a second master's degree. I enrolled at UGA in their (then-named) Master of Business and Technology program, a degree focused on emerging technologies and how they interact with business.
Around the beginning of the program, I was making music on my modular system one afternoon and felt influenced by the classes I had just started. It occurred to me: ten classes, ten tracks.
So along the way- sometimes during class, sometimes directly after- I created music that reflected how I was feeling about each particular class. Whether it was stress, joy, confusion, or frustration, each piece turned out completely differently. Since the songs are titled after their respective classes and presented in order, you can follow along with where I was in the program.
My intention was to make everything on the modular system, but I did end up producing a few tracks on my notebook in Ableton Live.
As I approach graduation on May 7th, I look forward to seeing how my classmates and others respond to what they hear. If you are one of my professors reading this, please recognize that what you take from the tones, keys, etc. may not reflect what I was feeling when creating the music- so don't be offended!
As always, so much love to my wife and son, who put up with many frantic coding evenings and long class times on weeknights- I love you both more than anything.

Making the tracks
I recorded a few videos of making the modular tracks.
