Let's work together.
I'm a musician. I don't sing, and even if I could, I don't write lyrics. I'm betting there are lots of talented students at UWG that can solve that problem, so here's my idea. Let's collaborate.
I'm looking for students (or employees!) who can sing, rap, or even play an instrument to submit samples. My plan is to remix or integrate those samples into music I create and release it as a compilation on all the major music platforms.
If you need an example of what I'm going for, check out Fred again..'s Actual Life project "...in which he collects samples from various sources - such as voice memos, clips from social media, and music by other artists - and incorporates them into original tracks."
Here are the guidelines I've come up with so far:
First, I don't plan to make money off of this. This is for fun. Any money made from streaming or purchase will be donated back to the University.
All lyrics should be releasable. That's vague I know, but think of it this way- I don't want to get fired, you don't want to get expelled.
No copyrighted material. We also don't want to get sued.
If you submit singing or instrumentation, pick a key and a tempo. I'll follow you, but you can't be jumping all around and expect it to be usable.
